We’re a small team — Stefanos, Dom, Oleksandr, Isaac, and Connor — focused on rethinking how dogs learn to respect boundaries. Frustrated by the continued reliance on electric correction, we set out to develop a more considered, humane approach to boundary reinforcement. We believe training tools should guide behavior without causing harm, and that we shouldn’t rely on methods we wouldn’t accept ourselves. Our goal is to usher in a new era of smart integration in your pet’s life — combining technology, practicality, and a more thoughtful philosophy toward training.

Our solution is a smart collar designed to humanely discourage dogs from crossing defined boundaries without the use of electric stimulation. Using Geo-fencing approach, the collar delivers a consistent high-frequency audio cue when a boundary is approached. Over time, the dog begins to associate the sound with the restricted area, gradually reducing the need for repeated cues. With temperature monitoring, integrated GPS and mobile software app that have alerts to keep owners informed when their dog faces danger in real time, while the system reinforces behaviour automatically — creating a largely hands-off training approach. Rooted in established principles of classical conditioning, like those demonstrated in foundational behavioural studies, the goal is simple: consistent reinforcement that teaches boundary awareness through repetition rather than punishment.

PAWTAL is design as a scalable platform, not just a standalone collar. Beyond boundary reinforcement and mobile software for remote monitoring, the system can support additional feature upgrades and updates for more functionalities like BLE alerts when the collar is low on battery, RFID integration for local wireless boundary for the collar, activity monitoring for the dog’s safety, LoRaWAN compatibility for enabling collar-to-collar or network-based alert relays for extended communication, improved user interface on the software, more environmental sensors measuring humidity and additional welfare insights. This results an expandable ecosystem that evolves from a training tool into a comprehensive smart companion system.

Our product's main beachhead market is low to mid income households with dogs. This is proven by our prices being more affordable than similar products in the market, thus reducing the barrier of entry for such products. In addition, with the lower cost of subscription, our solution also provides more integrated features with expandable hardware platform. Not to mention the ethical and humane manner of keeping dogs aware of their boundaries. Once our product reaches a threshold of users, we will expand our product solution aiming for high-income households or parties like dog trainers and kennels using features like veterinary monitoring and integrated smart-home ecosystem compatibility that would appeal to said target market.
